Similar to the recent storm tore through the northwest the prior day, City swept United away at the Etihad. It was a statement three goal victory for the City coach's side due to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their championship potential as they consolidated their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Successive Losses for United

This result marked consecutive Women's Super League setbacks for Skinner's side for the first time since May 2024, putting them seven points off the league leaders with their trophy ambitions hanging by a thread.
